FATOU SIA

Fatou Sia, a student at Baiima Christian Academy in Sierra Leone. I come from the Fatou Sia community in northeastern Sierra Leone and belong to the Kuranko ethnic group. I am the firstborn in a family of six children, and I carry the responsibility of guiding and supporting my younger siblings. I was raised in a community where traditional beliefs are widely practiced, and many members of my family are Muslims, but I came to know Jesus Christ through my aunty, who introduced me to the Christian faith and helped me begin a personal journey with God. Growing up in a less privileged environment has shaped my determination to succeed and uplift my family. During school holidays, I return to my village where I enjoy fishing with my aunts, and I also love crocheting and knitting—activities that bring me joy and allow me to stay connected to my roots.

I thank God for bringing ANEHOPE Ministry into my life, as their support in paying my school fees has made it possible for me to continue my education and pursue a brighter future. Without this help, staying in school would have been very difficult. Through this opportunity, my hope has been strengthened and my faith deepened. I am committed to working hard and making the most of this chance, not only for myself but for my family and community. My desire is to grow in faith and become a woman who serves God and uplifts others, sharing hope with those who come from backgrounds like mine. I remain deeply grateful and determined to honor this support and one day give back so that others can also rise beyond their circumstances.
