IDA ODERO LIZA

Ida Odero Liza is a determined and ambitious student at Asumbi Girls High School, a boarding school in Rangwe Sub-County, Homa Bay County, Kenya. She is the eldest of five children in a single-mother family and carries significant responsibilities, often acting as a role model and caretaker for her younger siblings. Despite the challenges of poverty and limited resources, Ida is deeply committed to her education and dreams of becoming a medical nurse to help those in her community affected by illness.

Life for girls in Kenya, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, can be extremely challenging. Without access to education, many face the risk of early marriage, a path that often stifles their potential and sets them up for a life of hardship. For Ida, the opportunity to attend school has been a lifeline, enabling her to grow wiser, make informed decisions about her future, and work toward a brighter tomorrow.

Ida’s journey was transformed when ANEHOPE Ministry stepped in during her time of greatest need. The ministry’s support allowed her to stay in school, freeing her from the fear of dropping out and giving her the tools to pursue her dreams. Through ANEHOPE, Ida has also experienced the love of Christ, which has brought her hope and strength.
