Mara High School
Mara International Christian School (MICS) Overview
At Mara International Christian School, we understand that Christian families in East Africa desire the very best for their children—academic excellence, strong spiritual formation, and preparation for global opportunities. That is why MICS offers a Christ-centered American curriculum that unites rigorous STEM innovation, biblical studies, world languages, and extracurricular enrichment. At every level, American English and Biblical Studies are compulsory, ensuring students are both academically fluent for U.S. colleges and spiritually grounded in faith. With additional language offerings in Kiswahili, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese, and enrichment in arts, music, sports, and leadership development, MICS prepares graduates who are globally competent, Christ-centered, and ready to thrive in higher education and international careers.
Mara Freshman
Students begin their high school journey with foundational courses in mathematics, science, social studies, compulsory American English, and Biblical worldview studies. They are introduced to world languages and participate in music, art, sports, and introductory STEM labs. Freshman year builds faith, intellect, and early cross-cultural literacy.
Mara Sophomore
Sophomore students advance into more complex coursework in STEM, history, and biblical integration. American English remains compulsory, alongside continued world language study. Music, athletics, drama, and service projects complement academics, cultivating teamwork, compassion, and Christ-centered leadership.
Mara Junior High
Junior High establishes strong foundations in mathematics, science, English, and Bible. With American English and Biblical Studies compulsory, students also select a world language from Kiswahili, French, Spanish, German, or Japanese. Electives in arts, drama, and technology, along with sports and school-wide events, encourage creativity, resilience, and Christian identity.
Mara Senior High
Senior High prepares students for university success through a college-preparatory curriculum that includes Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, advanced STEM, and compulsory American English and Biblical Studies. Students pursue advanced levels of world languages and expand their skills through music, ministry leadership, journalism, and athletics. This program ensures graduates leave MICS academically excellent, spiritually mature, and globally prepared to succeed in American colleges and international universities.
